The welding manipulator is generally composed of columns, beams, slewing mechanisms, trolleys, and other components. Each part of the welding manipulator is a building block structure. Generally, we take the column and the beam as the basic parts, and the other parts can be selected according to the user's requirements. Columns and beams adopt bending and welding structural parts, which have good rigidity. We mainly have four types of welding manipulators depending on the workpiece to be welded: light, medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty welding manipulators, while the extra heavy duty uses flat square guide rails, while the others all use triangular guide rails, all machined by planers.
The practicability of the welding manipulator is very strong. It can cooperate with the special welding positioner to realize one-time clamping of the cylinder, and the two welding torches can simultaneously weld the left and right sides of the workpiece, which makes the processing degree and production efficiency very high. The welding manipulator is widely used in longitudinal seam welding and circumferential seam welding of inner and outer seams of cylindrical workpieces such as pressure vessels, boiler drums, and petrochemical vessels.
The welding manipulator adopts the manual control box and the machine head control box (welding control box) to form the near control and remote control mode, the operation is flexible and convenient, and the linkage interface is reserved in the electrical box, which can be connected with the roller frame, positioner, circular rotation Workbench, etc. to achieve synchronous linkage.

Platform Welding Manipulator
The platform-type welding manipulator is divided into two types: single-track trolley type and double-track trolley type. The monorail trolley-type welding manipulator has a track, but the track is generally set on the column in the workshop. The movement of the bridge crane in the workshop often causes the platform to vibrate, which affects the normal progress of the welding process. The mobility, scope, and use of the platform welding manipulator are not as good as those of the telescopic arm welding manipulator, and the application in China has been decreasing year by year.
Cross arm welding manipulator
This type of welding manipulator is divided into cantilever welding manipulators and telescopic arm welding manipulators according to the structure of the horizontal arm.
Portal Welding Manipulator
This welding manipulator has two structures: one is that the welding trolley is located on a working platform that can be lifted and lowered along the gantry, and can move laterally along the track on the platform; the other is that the welding head is installed on a set of lifting The device, in turn, sits on a sports car that can move along the rails of the beam.
The welding manipulator is mainly composed of an operating device, a control device, a power source device, and a process support device. The main components are as follows:
1. The operating device includes a guide rail, an inclination adjustment mechanism, a vertical guide mechanism, a welding torch clamp, and a welding torch. The inclination adjustment mechanism can make the welding torch rotate positively and negatively around the center.
2. The control device is composed of an electrical control system, which can control the working state of the welding manipulator.
3. The power source device is composed of cylinders, which are driven by air pressure for power transmission.
4. The process support device is composed of a wire guide mechanism, a wire guide tube, and a wire guide nozzle, which can realize the automatic guiding and positioning of the welding wire and improve the quality of the welding seam.
